Diversity in AI
About
Welcome to the second edition of a more inclusive Diversity in AI Event organized as a side event of Northern Lights Deep Learning Conference NLDL 2023!
Worldwide public institutions, academia and industry should actively strive to improve the position of and increase the visibility of diverse groups within the field of AI and tech. By increasing the visibility of diverse individuals actively contributing in the field of AI, we can together inspire a more inclusive agenda within the otherwise not so diverse field of AI and ensure equal access and equal opportunities for future generations. Our collective goal should be to bring awareness by promoting diverse role models, and by portraying the breadth of opportunities for AI in society at large. During this Diversity in AI segment, we will bring together representatives from industry, public administration and research to address the disparities in AI today (related to gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation, nationality and much more), and discuss initiatives to ensure inclusivity and diversity in AI and in general for the future.
Diversity in AI event is organized by PhD fellows from the Visual Intelligence Graduate School in collaboration with NORA, hosted by UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
